Meet our staff
WELCOME Interim Pastor Rev. Scott Hill
Scott started as our interim pastor in March of 2013. He had
previously served as pastor at Corydon (IN) Presbyterian Church for 9+ years,
and before that in Kankakee, IL and Ithaca, NY.
Scott grew up in Milwaukee, went to Michigan State
University (biochemistry) and San Francisco Theological Seminary, and has
served the church overseas in Egypt and Morocco. He continues connections with
the Middle East through our presbytery partnership with the International
Center of Bethlehem and Hands Along the Nile Development Services (HANDS) in
Washington, DC, where he has served on the national advisory board and as a
fellow for Egyptian-American dialogue. He is always happy for a chance to
practice his Arabic.
In ministry, he has felt particularly called to build bridges
between different cultures, faiths and viewpoints; to bring together arts and
spirituality; to celebrate creation; to help people see their daily life as
ministry. Among the gifts Scott loves to use are worship planning,
storytelling, listening, and helping congregations focus. He currently serves
as moderator of the Presbytery of Ohio Valley, and on the administrative
commission to start a new church in Sellersburg.
Scott, along with his wife Candace and dog, Django, are
excited to be in Columbus, to be involved in the community, and to explore the
local parks and woods.
